My TiVo is dead.

On an unrelated note, parts of me feel dead, too. I had to expect it since it was bound to happen, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I look back on the very sporadic updates that I've made over the last six months and miss feeling like I did in July and early August. Just reading them makes it worse in a way.

I miss hearing songs and spinning in my chair. I miss hurrying home. I miss looking forward to my phone beeping the "You have a text message" beep.

The songs just make me remember and spinning just makes me dizzy. Home is just empty. "No new messages received."

[edit] Lots of stuff removed here just because I changed my mind about saying them.

So I turn a little older and a little wiser tomorrow. Sure hope it helps.

Interesting?

Things are a little odd these days. I dunno how best to explain it, so I'll just leave it at that and sigh.

GenCon

So....back from GenCon. Lots of fun.

Through a roundabout way, I ended up in a tournament for a PC game that's in early stages of beta (www.soldiers-of-anarchy.com) and actually ended up winning, thanks to my L337 skillz.

So, aside from a copy of the game when it comes out, I apparently/supposedly get to be IN the game itself.

There were some conflicting stories as to whether or not I become the main character or just another character in the story line, but we'll see what actually happens. Overall the game is pretty good...I enjoyed the demo and the multiplayer scenario they had set up for the tournament.

Was sort of funny to see the faces of the guys running the tournament when they asked me what I did for a living...

Me: "Uhm....I'm a producer for an online gaming company..." ::snickersmirk::

Them: "Nooooooo! Argh!!!!"

On a side note...it's a little odd that sometimes the simplest thing can so easily slip in to your normal routine that you don't even think about it...that is, until you aren't able to do it...

Get your mind out of the gutter...

What's Goin On...

Mood: Undeniably Happy
Tunes: Totally getting hooked on Portuguese "fado" music...mostly Dulce Pontes and Madredeus...current favorites are Pontes' "Lela", "Lagrima", and "Cancao do mar" (heard in the movie Primal Fear)...
Pages: Working on "Hitchhiker's Guide", "The Guns of the South" by Harry Turtledove, looking for more Steven Brust
Work: Can't really talk about anything I'm doing with work right now...but recently ran a festival and a wedding in TF...interesting and fun, to say the least

Sometimes you can just hear a song (or think about something or someone) and it makes you want to sit in your chair and spin in slow lazy circles. I love that feeling. Been getting it a lot lately. Lots of good tunes and good thoughts.

I have to highly suggest Dulce Pontes. I have no idea what she's saying, but it's gotta be good.

Moved back into my office, complete with new paint, new carpet, and a new arrangement. Now I just need to get everything put on the shelves and such.

As far as the apartment goes, Johnny's moved out, the carpets are clean, and today all the utilities should swap over to my name. Next phase is to start moving things upstairs and make sure I have everything I need. I know the bathroom up there needs a shower curtain, bathmat, and more storage at the very least. I'd also like to get a queen sized bed and, of course, I need furniture in the living room. The list grows.

Next week is GenCon. Excited, but also not sure how much fun I'll have because between my first month of paying the full rent on my own, the deposit on the apartment, and last month's part of the utilities, my reserves are a little low. I mean, I'm sure I'll have a blast, but I will just have to budget myself when I get there.

Catching up

So David got me this really cool expensive camera for my birthday in March and of course I had to go all out and buy neat things to add to it. It's really fun and I can tell I'm going to have a blast learning how to take good pictures. I think I will end up getting a scanner so I can scan them in myself and put up a photo gallery of the ones I like most. Yay!

Ah good...apparently it was something with blogger and I didn't actually break anything. :)
